In my travels I meet a lot of people who want to tell me about their relationship with their GPS – and you know it’s true – many people DO have a relationship with that voice or persona that guides them.
Do you have a name for your GPS (other than Karen!) I’ve heard some great ones – Sydney, Miles, Sheila, Zoe (after a pet bird who died), even La Loca.
What’s your best GPS story? Write it below and you might just win a prize.
Our family of five began a trip around the world six months ago. During our time in Europe we’ve had a long term rental car with a navigation system. It’s sent us on a few interesting routes, like when it literally had us going in a 4 block circle in London or when it insisted we were in the ocean and kept repeating “Please turn around when possible.” Recently we were in Prague and deciding whether or not we should go up to the top of the Astronomical Clock Tower. Our oldest daughter had recently watched a video about the top tourist attractions in the city. As we were discussing the Astronomical Clock issue she said, “Well, the lady in the video said it’s one of the best things to do in Prague…but she sounded like a GPS device so we probably shouldn’t trust her.”
